I am a seminary student working toward my Master's in Theological Studies. I've always believed people have a right to their own opinions, but I only thought about people having different theologies once I began studying different theologies. Before that, what I learned in Church was my theology. I volunteered with my church's youth group for years. The youth and young adults I have worked with have posed sound and deeply thought-out theological questions. Many young adults leave the church right after high school and do not find a faith community in college or at their jobs. It can be easy to put your faith on the back burner when you are busy, away from childhood routines, and no one holds you accountable for not attending church. But life can be easier if you open your heart to the teachings of Jesus. The Holy Trinity wants us to share in the love, strength, and grace of the Divine. Attending church is not necessary, especially if you have been hurt by the church.
I want to make space for people to heal spiritually. I am not a certified counselor, priest, or pastor. I'm a Spiritual Director who would love to walk with you and gently guide you on your spiritual journey.
Have you been hurt by the Church or a faith community? I would love to hear and share (if you want) your story.
